Ten days of stir-fry sauces, day 2: orange chicken

I love a good orange chicken. And I’ll go out on a limb and say it: I even like the Panda Express orange chicken. I’ve had some really bad versions at other restaurants that were either sickly sweet or that tasted like thickened orange juice. I’ve also had some excellent ones that were tangy and delicious. Orange sauce is a careful balancing act.

Here’s a recipe for making orange chicken at home (substitute whatever protein you prefer) that is made with easy-to-find ingredients and is pretty quick to come together. Many orange chicken recipes batter and deep-fry the chicken, which makes the sauce cling a bit better, but you certainly don’t have to do that.

Peace, love, and biscuits,

Kevin
