
I love gingerbread. Especially warm gingerbread. I probably inherited this from my mom, who loves all things ginger.
Making gingerbread from scratch is pretty easy; you just have to be prepared for a couple of minutes of vigorous stirring. But it is so worth it!
If there’s a challenge to this recipe, it’s to make sure that all of the ingredients get evenly distributed. That’s tough with thick batters.
The details matter in this recipe. Grease the pan so it doesn’t stick. Use hot water to prevent the melted butter from solidifying. Mix the dry ingredients together, then the wet ingredients together, then combine them. Test for doneness. Nothing difficult; you just have to remember not to skip stuff.
