Hi Folks, I’m Kevin, the creator of Haftacook, a web site for people who need to cook but never learned how. If you’ve already checked out the site, I hope you’re finding it helpful; and if you haven’t checked it out yet, I hope you do so soon! And today let me see if I can give you a new reason to dive in.
The next four years are going to be really tough for a lot of us, myself included. I’ve spent a lot of time over the last month and a half trying to figure out what I could do to stop from just sinking into despair and anger, and to find a way to contribute something that will be positive and affirming. So I’m starting a thing called One Dish a Week. Every week I’m going post here a video and recipe for one dish that you can make at home. We’re going to start with really easy stuff that covers the basics of cooking, and work our way up to more complicated stuff over time.
I invite you to join me on this journey. I can’t promise that you will love every dish, but you will be able to make each one, and after four years you will have made over 200 different things in your own kitchen and you will be a much more experienced and capable cook.
One Dish a Week starts this week with a great dish for a cold winter day or for a football watch party: chili. It’s really simple to make with just a handful of inexpensive ingredients, and the best part is you can make it your own by customizing the ingredients and spices.

So, One Dish a Week. Not a big commitment, but a way for us to rise above the divisiveness in our country and do something positive for ourselves and our loved ones. I hope you’ll join me.
Kevin
